There have been some pretty big upsets this year, and some have really shocked me. Such as Grayson Allen and Duke not flopping enough which lead to a direct L to South Carolina, and Brandon Koenig sommoning his inner soul and beating Villanova. Now South Carolina is going to the final four where they will lose to Gonzaga. And on The other side of the brackets, Oregon is going to buzzer beat UCLA and Lavar Ball is going to argue they didn't get the shot off and have a freak show, and then Oregon is going to be destroyed by Gonzaga and I am calling all of it, you heard it here first.

Similarities
Both talked about jewish prisoners getting beat for almost no reason, and really being beaten Both concentration camps talked about terrible conditions of the huts, weather, and food Both showed people just being taken away Both had chimneys which played a big part. Both had prisoners who were in charge and would beat each other. Elie and Schmuel both lost their dad's towards the end of the book/movie Differences Elie got the fact of what a terrible place that was right away, Bruno never understood what the concentration camp truly was Nobody (not including jews) in Night acted as they were against the Holocaust, But the mom and grandma were totally against it Schmuel got away with not working a lot but no one ever survived not working in Night, without a beating. Book or Movie I enjoyed the book more because it was more realistic and you got more feeling from it. Words Of The Wiser
Pg 78 Description: Another man in the infirmary tells Eliezer to get out of the Hospital Before the next Selection. Because "the germans have no need for sick jews." Answer: He now knows to be extremely aware of hospitals, because the man also did explain that they have more selections in them. Contrast and Contradictions Pg 110 Description: The blockalteste tells Elie that he needs to accept that his father will die, and instead of giving Elie's extra to his dad, he should be taking his dad's extra. And for a second Elie actually considers it. Answer: Because these places would probably change the best of us, and he his still just a child. And to a starving person I bet that sounds pretty good to be getting an extra ration, especially with your survival instincts telling you that "he will die anyways, why not get an advantage while he is alive?" Again and Again Pg 110 Description: Elie's father continuously asks if he may rest and die, but Elie won't allow it. Answer: It is showing that his father is weak and he may not make it, and if he does keep going on, that will put a huge weight on Elie's shoulders. As he will keep taking care of his dad and not himself. One of my first things to do as president would be going to rehab instead of jail for convicted drug users. I believe in this because we don't need to be spending so much money on prisoners every year. They get a lot of food and a few too many guards. Have you been in a prison? Those things would be hard to escape if they didn't have any guards in the first place. Also, I feel it would help more people than those who go to prison. And while it won't cure everybody it will hopefully help more out than prisons are now. (Drug dealers would still go to prison).
Guns, I believe that guns should be harder to get than they now are. Not just any idiot with some money should be able to walk into a place that sells guns, and say, "Well don't mind if I do". If you really think you deserve a gun, and you think that you have the brain power, responsibility, and know how to use the thing, than you most likely will be able to get a gun under my presidency. I will also immediately revoke(vocab word, I should get some extra credit) the Travel Ban Donald Trump has put into place. I do not agree with anything about it. It takes a lot out of people to move to America, lots of studying for the test, lots of money, and you most likely have to learn a new language. My other thing was, I was born in America and have lived here my whole life, the same is true for my parents and their parents and their parents, and it has been awesome, I think everybody should be able to get even just a chance at the american dream. So those are the three things I would do if I were president, but I'm not. :( Right off the bat to start break me and a few of my best friends got together and had a "Poker Night", some of our parents were there too! It always takes a couple hours but I do enjoy poker and enjoy being around my friends. A few days later I went over to another friends and we partayed hardayye, late into the nightayye. Next on my list for break, was Christmas.
I had 5 Christmases this year and I got everything I wanted, including a deep cut into my knee. Now I didn't actually ask for a bloody knee, obviously, but Santa made it happen. I knelt down on a glass table and it chose not to hold my weight. New Years was awesome, I jumped at the last second and into the New Year! The second day of this year didn't go so well, as the Iowa Hawkeyes took a big L. But other than that, I rate this winter break of 2016-17: 8.7. So have a great 2017! - Wolfe In the article it explains the 8 main and most important skills an 18 year old should have. The eight skills are; 1.must be able to talk to strangers, 2.must be able to find his way around, 3.must be able to finish assigments on time, 4.must be able to run a household, 5.must be able to handle interpersonal problems, 6.must be able to handle ups and downs when it comes to workloads, 7.must be able to earn and manage money, and they 8.must be able to take risks.
Now Mrs. Freitag wants us too answer which ones of these life skills we are good with, and which ones we could use a little help with. Number one, I believe I am pretty good with making conversations with strangers, I say check. Number two, I'm pretty sure I'll wind up at the University of Iowa and I know the place around there quite good, I say check. Number three, I have started struggling with this one since starting at South East Junior High, so I am goign to keep up at thinking of easier ways to manage all eight periods I have a daily, I say X on this one. Number four, I haven't ever really needed to deal with this one so I cannot say where I stand on it. Number five, this is sometimes much more difficult than other times so I say X. Number Six at this age I don't know if many kids can truthfully say yes to this one, I say X. Number seven, I had my first job as an umpire this past year and I think I did pretty well managing the money I earned from that. Number eight, I think I know when to take risks and when not too. If I could change a school rule, it would be seating charts. Now I know the biggest concern of kids sitting by their friends, is that they will talk to loud and disrupt class time, then just move those ones, don't punish everyone. About half my classes have seating charts, one or two take requests for who you would like to sit around, but the ones that don't have the chart seem to be more of an enjoyable enviroment. I have talked to many kids who just think school is terribly boring, and I don't fully agree, but somewhat. And not having a set seating chart is an easy way to chip a little bit of the boring part of school away.
Atentamente, Wolfe F. I am thankful for many things, and they won't all fit in this paragraph, but I will say the more important ones. I am thankful for all of my family, who I have lived with my whole life. (Except a couple of different full weeks, which is for another blog). I'm thankful for a roof over my head. I am also thankful for food and school, which many kids around the world are missing out on.
I am very thankful that my dog is still with us, although he was kicked by a cow. But, it wasn't out of nowhere, he charged at that 2000 pound cow barking his head off. I don't think the cow liked that loud obnoxiuos barking noise. The end result was a perfect hoof mark on Jake the dog's side, and a limp the next couple of days. |
